The Pie
- Think of a Bachelor’s degree like your favorite pie.
- The whole pie, the entire Bachelor’s degree, is 180 credits.
- You’re going to make this pie, layer by layer.
- The Foundation (the pie crust) includes 39-44 credits and will hold up the rest of your degree with important General Education courses, called Core Capacities, to help you explore, clarify goals and build career ready skills in writing, reading, critical thinking, and more.
- The Center (the filling) will be your Academic Major or the main “flavor” of your degree. Majors include a minimum of 60 credits, often more and highlight courses and experiential learning that will allow you to gain a strong focus in your educational and career area of interest.
- Top off your degree (just like you would any great pie) with additional layers of skill building and flavor.
